HINO MOTORS MANUFACTURING U.S.A.

Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc. is the commercial truck division of Toyota Motors Corp., producing Class 6-7 conventional trucks for the U.S. market. In addition, Hino produces axles, knuckles and suspension components for Toyota’s Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia at its Marion, Arkansas facilities. Hino’s Mira Loma Parts Distribution Center distributes genuine Hino service parts to Latin America and the Caribbean.

As a Toyota Group Company, Hino integrates the Toyota Production System (TPS) in its activities both on and off the plant floor. One hallmark of TPS is that quality is not static – it is an ever-evolving and continuous process. Each Hino facility has teams dedicated to Quality Assurance and Production Control, with members encouraged to stop the production line whenever a quality problem is found or suspected. Incorporating quality during the production process yields fewer defects and fosters greater efficiency.

In the United States, as in Japan, Hino is deeply committed to the safety and wellness of its Team Members. Each of the company’s three manufacturing facilities boasts a symbolic “Safety Gate.” Local Hino Team Members designed each gate’s motto. The plants have also established Safety Committees, comprised of Team Members from various departments, functions, and responsibilities. The Committees meet regularly to review issues and implement best practices, often with the assistance of third-party safety specialist consultants.
